About Savanna's Coffee House
Our Story
Savanna's Coffee House was founded in 2006 by Michel Bohmer and Sandy Thomas, two MSU graduate students with a shared dream: create a coffee house that felt like home for students, artists, and anyone who appreciates great coffee and good company.
Located in the heart of MSU's campus town, Savanna's was designed to be a funky destination, not just another place to grab a cup. From day one, the focus has been on premium products: fresh roasted coffee and espresso drinks, hot and cold teas, grilled and cold sandwiches, and homemade soups made from scratch.
More Than a Coffee Shop
When the sun goes down, Savanna's transforms. Our connected theatre space hosts local acoustic musicians, singer-songwriters, and performers on weekend evenings. Pair a glass of California Cellars wine or a cold craft beer with some of the best live music St. Paul has to offer.
We believe a great coffee house is part of the community's fabric. That's why we also host regular events like Chess Nite every Monday. Savanna's isn't just a place to drink coffee. It's a place to be.
Our Coffee
We roast our own coffee in-house, sourcing beans from the world's finest growing regions. Whether you prefer a bold dark roast, a smooth Mocha Latte, or a spiced Chai Tea, we take every cup seriously. Seasonal and rotating specialty roasts are always on deck.
