Life in Space
Other Worlds
Apollo 11 was the first mission to land people on the Moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the surface on July 20, 1969. It is probably the most famous space mission ever.
Perseverance launched in 2020 and landed on Mars in February 2021. It is looking for signs of ancient life and collecting rock samples to send back to Earth someday. It also came with a tiny helicopter called Ingenuity which actually flew on Mars, which was pretty incredible.
Artemis is NASA's current program to get people back on the Moon. One of its goals is to land the first woman and first person of color on the lunar surface.
